Reintegration Coaching: Supporting Your Return to Work in the Netherlands

Returning to work after a period of absence — whether due to burnout, parental leave, illness, or other life changes — can be a deeply emotional and overwhelming process. While others might assume you're “back to normal,” the truth is that reintegration is rarely a simple flip of a switch.

As a coach with a background in Organisational Psychology, HR and counselling, I specialise in supporting people through this critical phase — particularly those navigating the reintegration process in the Netherlands.

Why Reintegration Feels So Hard

In the Dutch system, reintegrating after long-term sick leave or burnout often involves check-ins with a company doctor (bedrijfsarts), HR, and sometimes an external reintegration coach. While these structures are in place for support, many people still feel:

  • Disconnected from their role or identity at work
  • Guilty for needing more time or accommodations
  • Anxious about expectations or judgment from colleagues
  • Unsure how to advocate for themselves in conversations with HR or leadership

These feelings are valid — and incredibly common.

Reintegration is not just a logistical shift, it’s a psychological transition. Your energy, confidence, and clarity may need time to return. My role is to help guide that process from the inside out.

How I Can Support You

Whether you’ve been away due to burnout, mental health recovery, parental leave, or a career break, I offer a coaching space that supports your emotional well-being, practical reintegration, and long-term sustainability at work.

Clarifying What You Need

Together, we’ll assess what’s changed in you — and what you want moving forward. This might include adjusting boundaries, workload, or expectations.

Navigating the Dutch Reintegration System

I bring HR and coaching experience within the Dutch work culture, so I can help you understand your rights and responsibilities — and prepare for key conversations with your manager or company doctor.

Rebuilding Confidence After Burnout

We’ll work on identifying limiting beliefs, exploring your nervous system’s response to stress, and slowly rebuilding self-trust and inner strength.

Supporting Parents Returning to Work

If you’re a new parent, I support the emotional, physical, and professional identity shift that often comes with returning to work after parental leave.

Who I Work With

I work with internationals and locals in the Netherlands who are:

  • On sick leave and preparing to reintegrate
  • In the early stages of burnout recovery
  • Feeling overwhelmed in their current job
  • Returning to work after parental leave or a career break
  • Needing support in setting boundaries or advocating for reasonable adjustments
